The OCC AGM in Plas Menai, North Wales

The Board of the Ocean Cruising Club -

Tim Bridgen, Anne Hammick with Secretary Rachelle Turk. 

As members were credentialed and cast their votes, a looped presentation about the award winners to be honoured that evening was shown on overhead screens. In a brief but informative AGM session, attendees learned from outgoing Commodore Anne Hammick that membership is increasing at a healthy rate, the finances of the club are sound, and the membership is very active around the world. The new OCC Flag Officers elected include:

o Simon Currin, Commodore
o Daria Blackwell, Vice Commodore
o Paul Furniss, Vice Commodore
o Zdenka Griswold, Rear Commodore

Jenny Crickmore-Thompson continues in her term as Rear Commodore and Tim Bridgen continues as Treasurer.  Rachelle Turk, Company Secretary, continues in her role which is appointed not elected. She is an ex oficio member of the Board and General Committee. New General Committee members elected include Baxter Gillespie and Phil Heaton. Congratulations to all.

After the Officer Burgees were awarded to the newly elected members, newly elected Commodore Simon Currin led a discussion about a proposal to fund a new initiative to apply some of the Club's surplus finances. It's really encouraging to be affiliated with a sailing club that is growing rather than contracting in this world of decreasing outdoor activity.

It was a very efficient meeting and members in attendance had the opportunity to provide their input after the official portion of the meeting was brought to a close. Now the fun could begin.
